Very light weight, sort of disappears in your hand. To be honest, I wasn't impressed when I pulled this case out of the box. It felt flimsy and I worried it might pull apart after a couple of days with my lifestyle. I am hard on my phone cases...in and out of my hand bags and pockets constantly, in the pocket on my saddle pads when I ride almost daily, and the covers get opened and closed hundreds of times a day. I even drop my phone now and then -GASP! The horror!This one has a hard plastic shell that your Fire pops into and a face cover to shield the screen from scratches etc. The cutout on the back for the camera is excellent - a little oversized which I actually like, no chance of the edge of the case appearing in my pictures. The plastic shell carries over to cover the volume and Firefly buttons with a flexible push through so they are protected, but still fully functional. Again, I like this...no accidental photos in your pocket. Additionally, the face cover is cut back a bit so the folding hinge piece isn't coming into contact with your volume or Firefly buttons open or closed. The outside material feels like a cross between linen and leather...soft without being slippery and it doesn't catch dust or fingerprints on the front. The metal look on the back is eye catching and helps the phone stand out from the crowd a bit. Overall...a very good case and one I will pick up in another color.
